1U Blank Panel for Networking Racks

The 1U Blank Panel is a one rack unit filler plate designed to close an unused slot in a standard equipment rack. It is part of the Cabinets & Racks range and is intended for networking and other rack-mounted setups.
Key Features
- Height of one rack unit (1U)
- Designed to fill unused space in a rack cabinet
- Listed under Networking and Cabinets & Racks
- Suitable for general rack applications
Why Use Blank Panels
Open gaps in a rack can disrupt the flow of air through the cabinet. Equipment may then draw in warm air from the back or sides, which can affect performance over time. A blank panel closes the gap so that air moves through the active equipment as intended.
Blank panels also protect the inside of the rack. They keep dust, cables and small objects from falling into open spaces and help prevent accidental contact with internal components.
Typical Uses
- Filling empty slots between switches, routers or servers
- Tidying the front of a network cabinet
- Preparing a rack for future equipment additions
- General rack layouts in offices, server rooms and comms cupboards
Installation Notes
Blank panels are typically fitted to the rack rails with the same screws used for other equipment. Check that the panel matches the rack width and mounting standard in use before ordering, and confirm the required quantity for the number of open units in the cabinet.
Refer to the rack and equipment manufacturer’s guidance for mounting and airflow recommendations in your specific installation.
