AJAX ReX 2 Radio Signal Range Extender (Black and White)

The AJAX ReX 2 Radio Signal Range Extender is a wireless accessory for AJAX alarm and security systems. Its purpose is to widen the area over which the AJAX hub and its wireless devices communicate, so that sensors, keypads and other components placed further away remain connected.
In larger properties, thick walls, metal structures or long distances can weaken the radio link between the hub and remote devices. A range extender acts as a relay in the middle of that path, receiving the signal and passing it on, which can help keep the whole installation working reliably.
Key features
- Radio signal range extender for the AJAX wireless system
- Black and white colour version (article A-REX2UNIT(B&W))
- Designed to be used with AJAX hubs and wireless devices
- No cabling needed for installation
Typical uses
Typical uses include extending coverage to an outbuilding, garage or garden, reaching a bedroom or upper floor that lies beyond the hub’s range, and supporting a larger office or warehouse where devices are spread across several rooms.
It is also useful when a new sensor or keypad has been added to a system and does not reliably connect from its planned location.
Placement and setup
Choose a location roughly halfway between the hub and the device that has poor coverage, where the existing signal is still strong. Avoid placing the extender inside metal cabinets or directly behind large metal objects. Test the connection after installation and adjust the position if needed.
Matching the system
Because this is an AJAX product, it is best combined with other AJAX components so that the whole system is managed from the same app and hub. Check the official AJAX documentation for supported hub models, firmware requirements and the maximum number of devices that can be connected through a relay.
The black and white finish allows the device to blend into either dark or light interiors, which is a practical consideration when the unit is visible on a wall or shelf.
