Uniview IPC2124LE-ADF28KMC-DL 4MP Bullet Camera, 30M IR, 2.8mm Lens, ColorHunter

Uniview 4MP Bullet Camera with 30M IR and ColorHunter

The Uniview IPC2124LE-ADF28KMC-DL is a 4 megapixel bullet-style camera for video surveillance. Its slim, elongated housing is designed to be mounted on walls, eaves and poles and aimed at entrances, driveways, car parks, yards and building perimeters.

Four megapixels provide more image detail than standard low-resolution cameras. This helps when you need to recognise people, vehicles or small objects at a distance. The camera has a 2.8 mm fixed lens, giving a fairly wide field of view that suits covering a general area rather than a narrow corridor.

Infrared illumination with a range of 30 metres lets the camera keep recording in darkness. The ColorHunter name refers to Uniview’s low-light colour imaging feature, which aims to show colour detail at night where many infrared cameras switch to black and white. Actual night performance depends on the scene, lighting and installation.

Typical uses include monitoring building entrances, perimeter fences, loading bays, parking areas and commercial premises, both during the day and after dark. It fits well into a network video system, where images are sent over an IP network to a recorder or management software.

If you are planning a system, check the mounting position, the required viewing distance and the power and network arrangements before ordering, and confirm any compatibility requirements with your recorder or software.

Uniview IPC2124LE-ADF28KMC-DL 4MP Bullet Camera, 30M IR, 2.8mm Lens, ColorHunter

The Uniview IPC2124LE-ADF28KMC-DL is a 4 megapixel bullet IP camera from the UNIVIEW range of CCTV products. It is designed for fixed outdoor and indoor surveillance, where a long, clearly visible camera body and a dependable infrared night function are needed to watch a specific area.

Key features

  • 4 megapixel image resolution for detailed footage
  • 2.8 mm fixed lens for a moderately wide field of view
  • Infrared illumination with a 30 metre range for night-time recording
  • ColorHunter low-light colour imaging feature
  • Bullet-style housing suited to wall and pole mounting
  • IP camera design for network-based video systems

Image quality and resolution

Four megapixels is a useful step up from older analogue camera resolutions. Extra pixels make it easier to read details such as clothing, number plates at moderate range and the faces of people standing near the camera. The image remains clear when you zoom into recorded footage, which is valuable when reviewing incidents.

The 2.8 mm lens gives a field of view that covers a broad section of a driveway, yard or shop frontage without requiring many cameras. Because the lens is fixed, the camera keeps the same view at all times, which is helpful for consistent monitoring and simple setup.

Night-time performance

The infrared illuminators allow the camera to record in darkness, with a stated range of 30 metres. Objects closer to the camera will be lit more strongly than distant ones, so placement matters. The ColorHunter feature is intended to produce colour images in low light, which can make it easier to identify clothing, vehicles and other details after dark. Results depend on ambient light, weather, reflective surfaces and the angle of view, so test the camera at the actual site before relying on it.

Installation

The bullet form factor is designed to be mounted on a wall, bracket or pole. Position the camera so the subject is in front of the lens rather than against a bright light source, and avoid pointing it directly at strong lights or reflective surfaces that could cause glare. Use the manufacturer’s installation instructions and a suitable mounting bracket, and plan cable routing for both power and network connection.

Typical uses

  • Building entrances and exits
  • Perimeter fences and gates
  • Car parks, driveways and loading bays
  • Retail frontages and warehouse yards
  • Offices and commercial premises where night-time coverage is needed

In a network video system the camera streams images to a recorder, network video recorder or management software. This allows remote viewing and centralised storage of footage. Before installation, confirm compatibility with your recording platform, the power supply required and the network infrastructure available at the site.

Before you order

Consider the viewing distance, the size of the area to be covered, the lighting at night and the mounting height. If you need coverage of a wider or narrower area, a different lens may be more suitable. Check with your installer or supplier for any accessories, such as mounts or cabling, that your installation requires.
