Uniview LPR Bullet Camera 3MP, 8-32 mm Lens, IR

Uniview LPR Bullet Camera 3MP with 8-32 mm Lens and IR

This Uniview LPR bullet camera is designed for licence plate recognition (LPR) in CCTV installations where a clear view of passing vehicles is needed. Its bullet-style housing is easy to mount on a wall, pole or bracket and aim at a road, car park entrance or access point.

The camera has a 3 megapixel (3MP) sensor, giving sharp detail for reading number plates at a distance. The lens range is 8 to 32 mm, so the installer can choose the field of view to suit the site, from a narrower view of a single lane to a wider view of an entrance.

Infrared (IR) illumination is built in, allowing the camera to capture images in low light and at night, when visible light is poor. This helps keep plate images usable after dark without extra lighting on the site.

Typical uses include vehicle access control at gates and barriers, car parks, business premises, estates and roadside monitoring. It can be combined with other Uniview CCTV equipment as part of a wider surveillance system.

Choose this camera when you need a dedicated number plate capture camera rather than a general-purpose surveillance camera. Check the lens setting and mounting position against the site layout before installation to get the best plate reads.

Uniview LPR Bullet Camera 3MP with 8-32 mm Lens and IR

The Uniview LPR bullet camera is a CCTV camera built for licence plate recognition (LPR). It combines a 3 megapixel image sensor, a motorised-range lens of 8 to 32 mm and built-in infrared (IR) illumination in a bullet-style housing. It is intended for sites where vehicles must be identified reliably, both in daylight and at night.

Key features

  • 3 megapixel (3MP) resolution for detailed images of number plates
  • Lens range of 8 to 32 mm to match the field of view to the site
  • Built-in infrared (IR) for image capture in low light and at night
  • Bullet housing for wall, pole or bracket mounting
  • LPR category camera for vehicle identification applications

Image quality and lens range

Plate reading depends on resolution, distance and angle. The 3MP sensor provides enough detail to capture characters on a number plate when the camera is aimed and set up correctly. The 8 to 32 mm lens range lets the installer choose a narrower view for a single lane, or a wider view for a gate or entrance area. A longer focal length gives more detail at a distance, while a shorter one covers more of the scene.

Night and low-light operation

Infrared illumination lets the camera record in conditions where visible light is limited. This is useful for car parks, estate entrances and rural roads that have no street lighting. Images captured with IR help keep plate information available around the clock, without adding separate floodlights to the site.

Mounting and installation

The bullet housing is suited to fixed mounting on a wall, pole or bracket. Position the camera so that vehicles approach it head-on or at a shallow angle, and keep the plate area within the frame. Avoid pointing the camera directly into headlights or sunrise and sunset glare where possible. Check the field of view and the IR effect on the actual site before final fixing.

Typical uses

  • Vehicle access control at gates, barriers and car park entrances
  • Monitoring of estates, business premises and loading areas
  • Recording of vehicles entering and leaving a controlled site
  • Roadside and perimeter monitoring where plate identification is needed
  • Integration with a wider Uniview CCTV system for recording and review

Who it is for

This camera suits installers and site managers who need a dedicated LPR camera rather than a general-purpose surveillance unit. It is a good match where number plates must be captured for records, access checks or incident review. For general coverage of people and areas, a standard CCTV camera may be more suitable alongside it.

Before you buy

Confirm the required lens setting, the mounting height and the distance to the plate capture zone before ordering. Check that the camera and any recording or software used on the site are compatible with your system. Plate reading results depend on site conditions, lighting, speed and angle, so a test setup is recommended.
